Microsoft 365 Copilot

Copilot can see everything your staff can see

AI that can see everything your staff can see is a permissions problem before it is a productivity gain. We get your data, licensing and governance in order first, then roll Copilot out to people who will actually use it.

Included

Work-grounded Copilot now ships with Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Business Premium.

Permissions

Copilot respects existing access rights - which is exactly why oversharing must be fixed first.

Adoption

Licences alone change nothing. Structured enablement is what turns them into hours saved.

What it is

AI grounded in your own business content

Microsoft 365 Copilot works across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, grounded in your organisation's own emails, documents, chats and meetings. It drafts, summarises, analyses and answers questions using content the signed-in user already has permission to see. That grounding is what makes it genuinely useful - and it is also why a tenant with sloppy sharing turns Copilot into an information disclosure risk on day one.

What you get

Included with Microsoft 365 Copilot

Oversharing assessment

We find the SharePoint sites shared with everyone, the open Teams, the "Anyone with the link" files, and fix them before Copilot surfaces them.

Licensing that fits

Standard and Premium now include work-grounded Copilot. We work out who genuinely needs the full Copilot add-on and who does not.

Governance and labelling

Purview sensitivity labels and data loss prevention so confidential content stays confidential even when AI can read it.

Adoption that sticks

Role-based training with prompts relevant to each team, rather than a generic demo everyone forgets by Thursday.

Agents and Copilot Studio

Build agents for repetitive internal processes, with governance over what they can reach and who can publish them.

Measured, not assumed

Usage reporting and a defined success measure, so you can tell whether the spend is actually returning anything.

Before you switch it on

The work that decides whether Copilot succeeds

Organisations that get value from Copilot did the unglamorous preparation. Organisations that abandoned it usually bought licences and hoped. The difference is about six weeks of work.

  • Audit and remediate oversharing across SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams
  • Retire or archive stale sites so Copilot is not grounded in 2018 nonsense
  • Apply sensitivity labels to genuinely confidential material
  • Confirm licensing and identify the real target users
  • Agree an acceptable use position staff can actually follow
  • Run a pilot cohort, measure it, then expand on evidence

Questions

Frequently asked questions

It depends what you want. Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Business Premium now include work-grounded Copilot in the core apps. The separate Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on extends this further. We compare what your plan already gives you against what you actually need, so you do not pay twice.

Copilot respects existing permissions - it will not show a user anything they could not already open. The risk is that most tenants have far more oversharing than anyone realises, and Copilot makes that instantly discoverable rather than merely theoretically accessible. Fixing permissions first is not optional.

Microsoft states that commercial customer data in Microsoft 365 Copilot is not used to train its foundation models, and that prompts and responses stay within your tenant's compliance boundary. We will point you to Microsoft's current commitments in writing so your legal team can assess them directly.

A pilot cohort of 15-25 people across different roles, six weeks, with role-specific prompt libraries, weekly check-ins and a measured baseline. Then expansion to the groups where the pilot showed real returns - not to everyone at once because the licence was bought.
